Xavier Aguiló i Aran

Collaborative Senior Associate – Evolve & BAC

Xavier studied Industrial Engineering in Spain, specialising in Engineering Structures. He qualified as an engineer in 1999 whilst working with BAC Barcelona as a structural consultant. Xavier was made Associate at BAC in 2001 and was appointed Director responsible for its Madrid office in 2007. In 2018, he was appointed UK Manager.

Since 2014, Xavier has been working with evolve to develop our alliance with BAC and manage our various collaborative projects.

He also teaches two programmes at the European University of Madrid’s School of Architecture  – the MUA Master degree and Technical Studies in Architectural Association. In London, he lectures in Spatial Practices at Central Saint Martins and in Architecture at the Royal College of Arts.

Xavier is especially interested in sustainable engineering and iconic buildings, having been fortunate to work on many striking buildings over the last 20 years. He is fully engaged with integration between technology and architecture.

Xavier is happily married and father to three lovely children. The family have recently moved to London and are enjoying all the new and unexpected things the city has to offer.

A keen cyclist, Xavier pursues a variety of disciplines such as MTB, gravel, road and urban, and has partaken in several cycling events, primarily marathons. He is also a member of the ICC in London.
