Implementing New Layers for Success

Evolve Consulting Engineers is embarking on the next phase of our comprehensive strategic plan for future growth with the introduction of a new layer of senior management.

The company, for which 2023 marks a milestone 21 years of business, will for the first time operate with the addition of Associate Director level roles.

The new structure sees long-time employee Andy Fuller-Lewis being promoted to an Associate Director position. With 28 years of experience, the move recognises Andy’s technical expertise and experience, particularly across life sciences, laboratories and higher education.

Joining Andy will be Matthew Thomas, with the title of Head of Design. He comes to Evolve from Foster + Partners where he was responsible for delivering a variety of highly complex international projects. Relishing all aspects of his role from the technical challenges and complex analysis methods, Matthew considers himself not only an engineer but a designer at heart.

News of the appointments follows an intensive period of strategic work and investment for Evolve which saw Director and co-founder Ian Craig take to the helm as Managing Director.

Speaking of the new appointments, Ian said, “Andy’s promotion reflects his enormous contribution to the company as a structural engineer while acknowledging the tremendous support he offers to the wider Evolve team.”

“I am also delighted that Andy will be joined at this level by Matthew Thomas. Matthew also takes on the role of Head of Design, to place design and creativity at the heart of what we do and to push the boundaries of our engineering.”

“This adjustment to the current structure sets the practice up for future growth and creates space for our team to develop and flourish. We have a clear vision in place to evolve, always. That means always finding better ways to design, to collaborate, to innovate, to share ideas, to grow individually and as a team. Having Andy and Matthew in their new roles is another key step in this continual evolution.”
