Working with the community to encourage young students from all areas into our world of Engineering

On the last week of October, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ethan for work experience with EVOLVE

Ethan started his first year at sixth form in September and approached EVOLVE via our work with LB Havering/Wates Social Values programme, a programme EVOLVE are committed to as it is devoted to enhancing life chances, with the aim to provide opportunities to access educational programmes and training, specifically focussed to promote careers in the built environment, ‘making construction a career of choice, not chance’.

EVOLVE believe that we can best contribute to the programme by building relationships with the Academies in the Borough by offering work experience and promoting the construction industry and engineering - a primary objective of ours.

After an intense week full of varying experiences in the world of engineering Ethan said “It has been great fun to experience the engineering workplace with EVOLVE. I have learnt how to design a house extension, use many different types of software & visited live construction sites. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. This week has cemented my interest in Engineering”.

We have been impressed with his work, he gained confidence over the week, a student with potential.

Maybe he will join EVOLVE as a consulting engineer someday.

EVOLVE for the people

EVOLVE, always
