evolve have been collaborating with GD Lodge architects on the design of a roadside diner off the A82, situated within the Lomondgate development  minutes from Loch Lomond. The single-storey diner comprises a simple steel frame, designed with moment-resisting connections to ensure stability in both directions, negating the use of cross-bracing. This ensured a simple, cost-effective solution that was easy to build on site and which complimented the architect’s details. The diner is due to open later this year and we would definitely recommend heading along if you’re in the area! The photo shows progress so far, and if you look very closely, you can see Andy Scott’s Lomondgate Stag sculpture on the roundabout in the background, for which we also provided structural advice.
